CHIANG MAI, Thailand — After years of painstaking research, scientists say they have unleashed a baby boom among one of the world's most beloved but endangered animals, China's giant panda.

A bit of panda porn has helped too, they say.

"It works," enthuses Zhang Zhihe, a leading Chinese expert, about showing uninitiated males DVDs of fellow pandas mating.

It is one of many techniques tried over the decades to get captive pandas — notoriously poor breeders — to do it, and do it right. The efforts to understand and simulate conditions for mating and raising cubs have paid off in China, the panda's native habitat. Now comes the next test: getting the magic to work outside China.

The big day will come in January, when Prasertsak Buntragulpoontawee hopes to bring off a successful mating between male Chuang Chuang and partner Lin Hui in this northern Thailand city.

Things that were important and happened - Important things that happened.

Spaced out on the date for Panda Express; I heard that expression (spaced out) on the Simpsons, not sure if it works.
Found a never ending pencil in my house; you put a stick of lead in and it automatically supplies lead as you write without you pressing the button
Never ending pencil ran out during math test
Most stressful school day on Friday academically - world history essay on the one topic I didn't really study, Ms. Dosch, in the nicest way possible, told me she was felt like killing me, math test where I kept stressing about one question and had two problems left after the bell rang and wrote them down, really really had to go to the bathroom, rushed to language and took the vocab test, which I felt like I failed
went to the bathroom for possibly the longest time in my life; I'm serious. People came and went, fall changed to winter, winter to spring...
Splattered spaghetti sauce all over girl in next table at lunch; it wasn't pretty.

This is becoming quite fun. This might be the last time I do this, though, unless I have an amazing week.

Nail polish tastes like crap. (no, I didn't eat it out of of the container)
Mosquitoes are twice as attracted to the color blue than any other color (read it out of a book)
Most of the stories I tell come from like, five or more years ago.
I have about five real friends.
It's easier to get four quarters from four people than a dollar from one
I have money
You can blow up hamsters by microwaving them
The anti-theft systems at Border's don't work
Most of the scents at candle stores are repulsive and nobody would buy them.

Friends....allies....comrades.....I ask you to look over at the other side of the field. They have nothing! they have no spirit, they have no patriots, and they have no courage. They are so pitiful, their feeble cheers don't even reach across this field! They invade from distant lands, while we fight within our own walls! These barbarians are challenging out rule, and it has come to our decision, whether we will let them go any farther, or whether we will crush them beneath our feet. Will we let these foreigners, these huns, take what is rightfully ours? no! So let this be our time! let this be our hour when we let them know that we are by no means giving up, that we will destroy them like so many before us!

I'll add more moral-boosting-but-meaningless junk when I feel spirited again. And I'll probably end up never doing it. Anybody else, up for the risk, be my guest!

Steve Erwin, the Crocodile Hunter, died. He was stung by a stingray while filming "world's deadliest animals" and went over a stingray, and it stung him in the chest, and he died at noon. I think I speak for everyone when I say I regret being stupid enough to make fun of his show.

possibly my favorite song. maybe not. I change my mind too much to have a definite favorite.
